2010-2011
Origins and Launch
In the early 2010s, a wave of international collaboration began forming around independent artists like Klassic Kloudhead,
Filipino rapper D.MC.G., Trinidadian producer Tremma Don, and others. Through these early cross-border connections, Klassic was introduced to SuperUgly (later known as Prick Flair), and the loose collective that would come to be known as Infinite Records started to take shape. During this period, several projects were released under the Infinite Records banner, including D.MC.G. and SuperUgly’s joint track “We Ballin’,” and Klassic’s debut rap EP, The Prelude.

By late 2011, the original Infinite Records wave was starting to wind down. D.MC.G., whose early collaborations helped spark that era, decided to step away from music, and Klassic realized it was time to build a dedicated home base for the next chapter.
On September 13, 2011, NuSounds Global was officially launched. It was announced that Klassic’s upcoming mixtape, Tattoos and Energy Drinks, would shift from Infinite Records to the new NuSounds imprint. Alongside Klassic, SuperUgly also chose to leave Infinite and begin releasing music through NuSounds. Within weeks, the label’s early identity snapped into place: Tattoos and Energy Drinks arrived first, followed by electronic artist DeSix’s debut
The Other Dimension, SuperUgly’s mixtape
I Hate SuperUgly, and the self-titled EP from
duo Deadly Combination (Tres Aurland and Dr. Death aka Lil Insanity). Klassic closed out NuSounds’ first year with the EP Civilians at War, establishing the label as a small but busy home for tightly connected independent projects.
